Virginia Tech Publishing is committed to pushing the boundaries of academic publishing and scholarly communication beyond traditional forms and formats, especially toward those that promise to integrate new media with teaching, learning, and research. Additionally, the Athenaeum Media team, which produces all media projects for Virginia Tech Publishing, is committed to facilitating the transdisciplinary communication of academic ideas to non-academic audiences. Toward this end, we are cultivating partnerships with members of the Virginia Tech community as they experiment with many forms of spoken-word and visual story-telling, including live-streams, audiobooks, and the popular podcasting format.
To support this work, Virginia Tech Publishing and the University Libraries have engaged a combination of subscripted and home grown tools, resources, and expertise to produce and distribute our diverse and dynamic catalog of programs, and to make these discoverable within the Libraries' collection.
This initiative is still emerging and evolving. Projects are in development all the time. So, please check back frequently to see what is new.

Across the globe, practitioners are working to craft a more just and thriving world. Meanwhile, researchers are engaging in work fundamentally changing how we understand social dynamics. Unfortunately, there is not as much connection between these two spheres as there could be. Practitioners are too often working from incomplete information and faulty theories of change. The Social Science For Good Podcast is a new podcast series focused on connecting change agents and leaders to social science theories and research that might be relevant to their work in an accessible manner.
