This interdisciplinary journal examines the practices, processes, and individual and collective struggles that produce change at all levels of society. Community Change adopts a broad definition of community development that includes issues relating to public policy, democratization, collective action, physical and social infrastructure developments, agency, and efficacy.

The Journal of Veterans Studies (ISSN 2470-4768) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. The goals of the journal are to sustain international research in veterans studies, facilitate interdisciplinary research collaborations, and narrow gaps between cultures, institutions, experiences, knowledge, and understanding.
We understand veterans studies as a multi-faceted, scholarly investigation of military veterans and their families. Topics within that investigation could include but are not limited to, combat exposure, reintegration challenges, and the complex systems and institutions (VA) that shape the veteran experience. Veterans studies, by its very nature, may analyze experiences closely tied to military studies, but the emphasis of veterans studies is the “veteran experience,” i.e., what happens after the service member departs the armed forces.
The work of veterans studies can be found in such fields as higher education, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and student affairs (among many others). Additionally, it can be seen in and out of formal education: by current members of the military, leaders of nonprofits, artists, activists, and students taking courses in veterans studies. Such research and work can take multiple forms. The journal is open to multimodal submissions in a variety of formats. We support the practical application of new knowledge regarding veterans studies to veteran and non-veteran (active duty, business, nonprofit, artists, activists) audiences as well as research that moves the field of veterans studies forward.
Our acceptance rate* is 69% *rate includes desk-reject submissions and only accounts for submissions received between 01/01/2019 to present.

SPECTRA is a graduate student-run, peer reviewed scholarly journal hosted at Virginia Tech. The journal features work of an interdisciplinary nature and is designed to provide an academic forum to explore controversial topics and take intellectual risks. SPECTRA welcomes scholarly refereed articles, book reviews, essays, interviews and other works. In addition to these more traditional formats, SPECTRA also accepts a wide range of original multimedia pieces for publication, such as podcasts, digital videos, internet hosted texts, artwork and presentations, comics and photography.

SEE is an international, open-access, peer reviewed journal that provides a venue for high-quality research conducted in all settings and contexts relevant to engineering education, with an emphasis on contextually rich reflective discussions of issues and approaches important to engineering education researchers and practitioners.
SEE focuses on interpretive research paradigms and invites a wide range of studies that help expand the body of knowledge in engineering education, including ethnographic, anthropological, phenomenological, and other forms of empirical research, as well as literature reviews and theoretical or conceptual articles that seek to frame critical issues in the field. Studies can be conducted in any context relevant to engineering education, including K-12, higher education, classroom settings, and the engineering workplace.
To support an intellectually vibrant vision of the field, SEE encourages rich and thorough descriptions of all aspects of research, including theoretical frameworks, epistemological underpinnings, researcher backgrounds and perspectives, impacts of contextual factors in data collection, research quality, and other appropriate aspects.
To promote dialogue among scholars, the journal also welcomes respectful and productive commentary & response pieces that engage individual articles and authors in deeper discussions of the implications of the work.

Welcome to the Virginia Tech Undergraduate Historical Review, where we publish the best undergraduate original historical research! VTUHR adds to historical scholarship by publishing original historical research conducted by undergraduates. Our articles contribute to the scholarly conversations that surround their topics and add fresh perspectives from a new generation of scholars. The mission of the journal is to publish outstanding original historical research while providing undergraduate editors and authors the chance to learn about the publishing experience. By encouraging undergraduate research and on-the-job training for our undergraduate editors, VTUHR contributes to Virginia Tech's commitment to experiential learning. Offering all of Virginia Tech's students who are taking history classes the ability to submit their work for consideration gives our journal a broad reach, as many students from other majors take history classes and produce final papers that could be submitted for consideration. Sending out the call for papers to other regional institutions also ensures that the topics covered in our volumes represent the best research by giving us a larger number of submissions from which to make our final selection.

Philologia is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary publication which accepts undergraduate liberal arts and human sciences research from Virginia Tech's College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. The journal aims to provide the College's undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain experience submitting research to a peer-reviewed publication, as well as establish an open forum for exchanging undergraduate research, and other scholastic endeavors. Although the journal was established by Virginia Tech’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, the intended audience includes all undergraduate institutions of higher learning.

JUMR is a scientific journal dedicated to research performed by undergraduate students in materials related fields. JUMR is a student-run endeavor. The editorial board is made up of graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
The primary goal of the journal is to provide a venue for undergraduates to publish research performed in materials related fields. The secondary goals are to provide opportunities for undergraduates to practice their communication skills and learn about reviewed publications, as well as providing opportunities for editorial board members to participate in the administration of creating the reviewed publication.
